Emile Nunier

1810 – 1895

Emile Munier was a French nineteenth century painter.  He was born in Paris where he spent most of his life.  Munier specialized in the portrayal of children, particularly in outdoor settings.  He also painted landscapes and was an accomplished portraitist.

Munier is known to have collaborated with the well-known artist William Adolphe Buguereau and Adolphe Lucas.  He also worked with the Art Nouveau glassmaker Emile Galle.

Munier exhibited regularly during his career at the Paris Salon between 1869 and 1895 and won and Honourable mention in 1882.
