Heavenly Vehicle to Buddhist Land

Heavenly Vehicle to Buddhist Land

Technique :  Acrylic on Canvas

Size :  65×90 cm.

The work reflects the artist’s mind— absorbed in the Buddha’s Dharma which releases one from the world, but on the other hand, he still yearns for worldly matters. In his Buddhist artworks, noticeable symbols are used to convey the meaning— a lotus represents Dharma, a circle represents sunyata or the emptiness, a monk represents an arhat or the one who gains insight into the true nature of existence and achieves nirvana, a fish represents a vehicle to take meritorious people to the heaven or extrication from a round of rebirth.
