Songkran (the Water Festival) is a festival of happiness and considered National Family Day. Descendants come to pour water on the hands of revered elders and ask for blessings on this day. It makes parents happy and also preserves the Thai tradition. This picture shows happiness and joy of throwing water at each other. A daughter takes her foreign husband to kneel down in order to prostate on the lap of her mother and this elderly lady cannot hide her delight.
