Inspired by pondering on the arist’s own life— his many stories and experiences— and finally concentrating on the mind, breathing in and breathing out, and consciousness. It then becomes recall and awareness. The first realization is ‘a duty’ which depends on one’s own karma.
This work is a three-dimensional sculpture but it was intentionally created to look like two sides of a coin. The front is about pleasures. Its shape presents the mundane content regarding defilements and cravings. The back is about a reminder. Its shape presents the dharmic content— a lotus-like gear wheel and human being. Therefore, there are ideas and meanings to express emotions and feelings which then become thoughts and imaginations.
